U.S. National Arboretum All seeds were initially placed in baggies in 10-gallon aquarium. Victoria 'Longwood Hybrid' - seed lot # 00L72, 10 seeds: 30 % germination, 2 did not survive after transplanting to soil. 1 plant grown on and displayed in pool. V. cruziana - #01C41-C, 10 seeds: 0% germination. 5 seeds nicked after approximately 30 days - no effect. V. amazonica - #00A53, 10 seeds: 40% germination, 1 of these very late - about 45 days. 2 plants did not survive transplanting. 1 plant grown and displayed in pool, other discarded due to slow development. V. 'Adventure' - #01H01, 5 seeds: 0% germination. 2 seeds nicked after 30 days - no effect. Euryale ferox - 01EKK, 10 seeds: 50% germination, 4 did not survive transplanting. 1 plant grown and displayed. |
