Nymphaea alba var. rubra, the "Swedish Red Waterlily", is found in the wild only in the area of Nerike, Hammar, Sweden. It is pictured here growing in Lake Fagertärn. Not only is this waterlily beautiful on its own, it is the foundation parent of all red hardy hybrids.
