This "sea" of waterlilies was found in central Queensland near the Carnarvon Gorge National Park. In Arcadia Valley, it is known as Lake Nuga Nuga. It was an unusual event, the result of an especially rainy season. It does not stay this way, drying out quite quickly. Frances Cottrell-Dormer is primarily a photographer of birds but took these images for WGI member Janey Pugh.
