A little bit more conventional this one, but
naturally, as one would expect, it has a Strawn twist. From the
first blooms plants produce, you could be forgiven for thinking
this is just another semi-double pink. Petals of these blooms
are usually rather rounded with a richer colour towards their
centre. As plants mature the subsequent flowers become increasingly
stellate and more open.
'Starburst's' colouration also changes considerably
during this time. The petal colour of immature plants consists
of solid pigment, but unusually as plants mature this changes.
Fully mature plants display a much more vibrant shade of pink,
which if you look closely is actually made up of masses of tiny
streaks, spots and flecks of colour. |
